Louis Edwin “Eddy” Benson, age 59, La Cygne, Kan., passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023.  He was born in Paola, Kan., on July 21, 1964, the son of Larry Benson and Linda Virgin. He graduated from Prairie View High School in the Class of 1982. He then attended trade school at Beloit, Kan., receiving a certification as an operating engineer in 1983. He became a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local #101 on Sept. 1, 1987. 

Eddy enjoyed fishing, hunting, guns, and anything outdoors. He loved kids, supporting many organizations along the way. 

He is survived by his mother, Linda McCammon and husband, James; his father, Larry Benson and wife, Barbara; a brother Rodney Benson and wife, Christina; a niece Sabrina Benson and fiancé David Hartman; and a great-niece Bristol Hartman.
