Andrew Lee Callahan, 39, resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at Mercy Hospital. He was born March 23, 1975, in Iola, Kan., the son of Theadore and R. Rella Holmes Callahan.
He graduated from Jayhawk-Linn High School with the class of 1993. He then attended Fort Scott Community College.
He married Persian Grant Oct. 21, 1994, in Fort Scott. He worked 12 years for Labconco in Fort Scott as a laser operator. Andrew enjoyed all types of music. He liked to attend low rider car shows and sketch drawing. He loved spending time with his children. He attended Fort Scott Nazarene Church.
Survivors include his wife Persian of the home; a son, Andrew Callahan; two daughters, Shakila Callahan and Sydney Grant; a brother, David Haynes and wife Cassie, Fort Scott; two sisters, Daisy Burton, Arcadia, Kan., and Glory Ann Callahan, Olathe, Kan.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rev. Tolle Bowman, Rev. Kenneth Wood, and Pastor Ulus Holmes will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, PO Box 347, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, KS 66701. Words of remembrance may be submitted to the online celebration wall at cheneywitt.com.
