Ann Louise Ferguson, 88, of Girard, Kan., died on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, at the Girard Medical Center.
She was born on March 18, 1933, in Holton, Kan., the daughter of Cyril and Velma Nolin. She grew up in Blue Mound, Kan., and graduated from Blue Mound High School in 1951. She received her B.S. degree from Kansas State Teachers College, now Pittsburg State University.
She married George Ferguson on June 14, 1953, in Blue Mound.
Ann was an elementary teacher for many years and especially loved teaching kindergarten. She was a lifelong member of the Blue Mound United Methodist Church, serving as an organist and Sunday School teacher, and was an active UMW member.
Ann loved spending time with her family and friends and watching all of her grandkids’ events. In her free time she enjoyed reading, playing the organ and crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Ferguson.
Survivors include one sister, Nancy Spencer and husband Carrol; a son, Todd and wife Lori of Girard; and five beloved grandchildren: Brett, Jordanne, Justin, Emily and Aric Ferguson, all of Girard.
Funeral service was Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at Girard United Methodist Church. Graveside was Monday at Sunny Slope Cemetery, Blue Mound.
