Arlene K. Duesler, age 93, formerly of La Cygne, Kansas passed away on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017. She was born in Linn County, Kansas on Nov. 5, 1923, the daughter of John Charles and Dora Pearl King Clay. She graduated from Mound City High School. Arlene worked as a bookkeeper and prepared tax returns before retiring.
She married Charles William “Bill” Duesler on October 26, 1971. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2002. She was a 4-H leader and member of the La Cygne United Methodist Church, where she served as a board member and Sunday school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Joyce Marmon: and three brothers: Johnny, Henry and Laramie Clay. She is survived by two sons, John and James Marmon; numerous grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Friday, Oct. 13, 2017 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to service time. The family suggests contributions to the La Cygne United Methodist Church.
