Arnot Franklin Baldwin Jr. "Frank" age 92, formerly of Butler, Mo., passed away on Aug. 18, 2024, in Topeka, Kan. He was born the son of Arnot Franklin and Ethel Payne Baldwin on Dec. 6, 1931, in Independence, Mo. Frank graduated from Kansas City Northeast High School in 1948. He enlisted in the Kansas National Guard in 1951 and was discharged in 1953. A month later he volunteered for active service and was discharged in 1955. He married Deloris Baldwin on Feb. 1, 1953, in the Methodist Church in Parker, Kan. Over the years, Frank had many jobs. He was a farmer, elevator inspector, yearbook salesman, farm machinery sales manager, a rural newspaper and postal carrier to name a few. He enjoyed family and friends. He loved dressing up. He never met a stranger and was known as "Friendly Frank". He enjoyed flying small airplanes, and if he hadn't been a farmer he would have been an airplane pilot. He was a lifelong member of the Masons, Scottish and York Rite bodies and the Shriners.
Frank was preceded in his death by his parents; a sister, Wilma Baruth; daughter-in-law, Debra Baldwin; and a granddaughter, Janelle Baldwin. He is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Deloris, who passed away on Oct. 1, 2024. Frank is also survived by a son, George Baldwin; a daughter, Audrey Taylor; five grandchildren, Jason Baldwin, Jacqueline Baldwin, Dalton Taylor (Brooke), Alec Taylor (Isabelle), Summer Taylor (Abel); three great-grandchildren, Richie Dobbs, Cory and Daryn Baldwin; nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, at the Elm Grove Cadmus Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Children's Hospital Burn Unit and may be sent in care of Schneider Funeral Home P.O. Box 525 Pleasanton, Kan. 66075.
