Bowonn Edward Owen, age 9, Mound City, Kan., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, as the result of an accident. He was born on Oct. 26, 2015, in Fort Scott, Kan. He came into this world the youngest of his mother Estell Owen. He was a bright eyed, smiley, baby boy. He was the apple of his family's eye. All his siblings loved him. As Bowonn grew, we realized we had our hands full. He was all boy. From the moment he could walk, the mischief seemed to follow. He loved to be outside fishing and just enjoying life, making everything an adventure, which he would love to tell you all about. I'm sure many of you have had him spin you a story. His spirit lit up every room. He will be deeply missed.
Bowonn was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward Owen; uncle, Lucas Owen; step-father, Curtis Peters; and baby cousin, Abel Owen. He is survived by mother, Estell Owen; siblings, Daylonn Burk, Laydonn Jackson, Billie Griffith, and Izayah Houk. He also leaves behind many loved ones, grandmother, Denise Owen, paternal grandmother, Tami Lafferty, loving aunts, Ashley Owen (Johnny Hartman), and children Kayden, Brayden, J.J., Camden and Jaxx; and Christy and Travis Burk and their children, Eithan, Erielle, and Emerald Burk; many friends and community. The light Bowonn cast with his electric and ornery personality will truly be missed. Rest in peace our loving boy.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025 at the Schneider Funeral Home, Pleasanton Chapel. Memorial contributions will be used to defray funeral expenses. Gifts can be sent to Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box 525, Pleasanton, Kansas 66075. Online condolences can be made at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
