Carroll “CW” Wilmurth, 62, of Drexel, Mo., passed away Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, at his home in Drexel with his wife Kim and daughter Destiny by his side.
CW was born Sept. 9, 1953 in Kansas City, Mo., to Bill and Doris Howell Wilmurth. He was united in marriage to his soul mate, Kimberly Heaper May 3, 1997. Together they owned and operated several businesses, The Lonesome Dove Saloon in Butler, Mo., Amsterdam, Mo., and La Cygne, Kan., and The Depot in Adrian, Mo. CW also worked in construction, enjoyed fishing in his free time, and was an avid musician.
CW was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Kim Wilmurth of the home; daughters, Destiny Wilmurth of Drexel, Mo., Rachel Maylan of Peculiar, Mo., and Diane Doley of Paris, France; sons, Jeremy and Ryan Spears of Indepence, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Bill Wilmurth and wife Cindy of Louisburg, Kan., Joe Wilmurth of Kansas City, Mo., and Mark Wilmurth of La Cygne, Kan.; sisters, Linda Chewell of New Port Richey, Fla., and Terry Swope of Grain Valley, Mo.; along with nine nieces and nephews.
CW was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at the Mullinax Funeral Home – Drexel Chapel in Drexel, Mo. (660-679-0009). Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to services. Messages of condolence for the family may be left at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.
