Charles Robert Patterson, 79, Dwight, Kan., passed away April 16, 2021, at his residence. He was born March 25, 1942, in Amoret, Mo., the son of Claude and Phyllis (Mitchell) Patterson. He married JoAnn Norris on Feb. 23, 1962.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife JoAnn; and brothers James Patterson and Jerry Patterson.
Charles is survived by his three daughters, Pamela Patterson of Dwight, Kimberly Hicks and husband Marshall of North Carolina, and Lisa McCoy of Abilene; grandchildren Anthony Patterson, Suzanne and Curtis Hicks, Timothy Moyer, Brandon Moyer and Alexis McCoy; sisters Mary Martin and Judy Stewart; and his dog Chico … his lifelong sidekick.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at Sawyer Funeral Home, 137 N. Union, Council Grove, Kan. 66846. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, at St. Columbine Catholic Cemetery in Edgerton, Kan.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231.
