Dana Dawayne Coke, 51, of Tanglewood Lake, died at 9:05 pm on Monday, June 15, 2020, at Olathe Medical Center after a long illness.
Dana was born April 29, 1969, in Independence, Mo., to Dewey William and Anna Omega (Brawley) Coke. He was a carpenter and enjoyed woodworking, but the highlight of his life was his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Sue and Eva. Dana is survived by three sons, Aaron Deffenbaugh, Carlos Hendricks, and Joshua Coke; and one daughter, Ashley Coke and her husband Coree Yingling; two brothers, Dewey and Gordon; three sisters, Vickie, Diane and Carmen; six grandchildren, Danielle, Carlos, Gunner, Hunter, Brayden, and Callie; and his ex-wife, Angela Coke.
There will be a private family service at a later date. The family suggests contributions to the Dana Coke Memorial Fund to help with funeral expenses. Contributions may be mailed to Schneider Funeral Home, La Cygne Chapel, PO Box 304, La Cygne, KS 66040.
