Dora Arlene Johnson, age 90, Mound City, Kan., passed Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021. She was born on Dec. 19, 1930, in Farlinville, Kan., the daughter of Lawrence Russel and Dora May Johnson Holt. She graduated from Mound City High School. Arlene was united in marriage to Raymond Johnson on Dec. 19, 1948, in Mound City. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Russell Holt Jr., Everett Holt, and Freddie Holt; and a great-grandchild. 

Arlene was a farm wife, clerk at Big Dollar and Landers Pharmacy and ran a diner on Main Street in Mound City. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, and gardening, especially growing roses. Arlene is survived by a son Marion Johnson (Vicki); a daughter, Theresa Kortemeyer (Lee); four brothers, Lloyd Holt, Burton Holt, Virgil Holt, and Roger Holt; a sister, Rita Rhodes; nine grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. 

Individual respects and Guest Registry can be made from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. A private family service will be held.  Interment will be in Curry Cemetery.  Contributions are suggested to Hillside Villages Activity Fund or Douglas County Visiting Nurse Association, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O.
