Duane Wisdom, 75 of Amoret, Mo., passed away March 23, 2019, at Adrian Manor in Adrian, Mo. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Mullinax Funeral Home (660-679-0009), Butler, Mo. A visitation will be held prior to the service Saturday from 1-2 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in State Line Cemetery, west of Amoret. Contributions are suggested to the charity of donor’s choice. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.
Claude Duane Wisdom was born Sept. 28, 1943, in Amoret to Harry Wisdom and Evelyn White Purdy. He grew up in the Amoret area. After school Duane went right to work. He spent most of his career farming and working as a construction supervisor for Taylor-Moore Construction for well over 25 years. Duane was united in marriage to Judith Schmidt on Feb. 22, 1994.
Duane was preceded in death by his father Harry Wisdom; brothers LeRoy Wisdom, Butch Wisdom and Carl Wisdom Sr.; his sister, Evelyn Hoover; nephew Carl Wisdom Jr.; and stepfather Harry Purdy.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Judith Wisdom; his mother Evelyn Purdy; first wife Betty Wisdom; sons Terry Wisdom, Mike Wisdom, Edward Wisdom, Shaun Krail and Henry Wisdom; daughters Teresa Burton, Julie Saker, Diane Meyers and Melissa Krail; stepsons Garth and Billy McKinzie; sisters Doris Irene Hicks and Judy Gurley; brothers Edward “Joker” Wisdom and Ottis “PeeWee” Wisdom; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Nobodys wins Blue Mound co-ed softball tournament

The team called Nobodys wins the Blue Mound 4th of July co-ed softball tournament on July 5. This year the tournament consisted of eight teams. The Nobodys is Keith Morrell’s team and has been a part of the softball tournament since it started three years ago.
Pleasanton 12-14 baseball wins championship

The Pleasanton 12-14 baseball team wins their league tournament on June 30 to July 1. Pleasanton hosted the tournament and won in the championship against La Cygne 11-7.
