Esther Earline Croan, 89, of Buckner, Mo., died on Nov. 18, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital. Earline was born June 23, 1930, in Mound City, Kan., to Ormal Earl "Earl" and Nellie P. (Phillips) Nation. She attended Mound City schools.

On June 28, 1947, she married Orville R. Croan in Fort Scott, Kan. Earline was a member of Buckner Restoration Branch Church. She enjoyed collecting clocks and Santas.

Earline was preceded in death by her husband, Orville, on Jan. 4, 1997; one grandson, Daron Kiley; and one great granddaughter, Katelynn Christine Voorhees.

Survivors include her two daughters, Phyllis I. and Joe Best, and Marilyn M. and Gary Janssen; four grandchildren, Richard Dean Janssen, Latisha Kay and husband Jesse Piepmeier, Daniel Best, and Deidra Rumi and husband David; 14 great grandchildren; and seven great, great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Burial followed in Curry Cemetery.
