Gary Dean Clearwater, age 68, La Cygne, Kan., passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020. He was born on March 7, 1952, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Fred and Dorothy Johnston Clearwater. He graduated from La Cygne High School in the Class of 1970.
He married Susie James on Feb. 8, 1975. He worked as an equipment operator and was currently employed with Hamm Construction. Gary's number one priority was his family. He enjoyed spending time in the roping pen, taking care of his cows and upland bird hunting. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Gary is survived by his wife of 45 plus years, Susie; son Ty Clearwater; daughters Kristie Jo Clearwater (John) and Tatum Schull (Tom); a brother, Larry Clearwater (Dalena); two sisters, Kathy White (Donnie) and Karen Matula (Dan); and four grandchildren, Austin Kelpis, Cole Wallace, and Bryson and Heath Schull.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020, at the East Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.
