Gene Ramshur, 79, of Pleasanton, Kan., passed away Friday, July 17, 2020, at his home in Pleasanton. Cremation, with memorial services to be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler, Mo. A visitation will be held just prior to the service Wednesday from 1-1:30 p.m., also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ramshur family. Alvin Gene Ramshur was born Oct. 14, 1940, in Mobile, Ala., to Albert and Gladys Jeffcoat Ramshur. He was united in marriage to Eula Mae Stephenson on April 1, 1960.

Gene worked most of his life as an equipment operator in construction, and for a time he served as a pastor. He enjoyed singing and performing gospel music with his wife Mae.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert Junior Ramshur. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mae Ramshur, of the home in Pleasanton; and his children, Penny Gilbert and husband Will of Pleasanton; Al Ramshur and wife Robyn of Clinton, Utah; Tyle Ramshur and wife Ellaine of Syracuse, Utah; Carol Renae Kunzler of Layton, Utah; and Rick Ramshur of Lafayette, La. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and friends.
