Glenn Ivan Francis, 90, Nevada, Mo. passed away on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. Glenn was born July 30, 1927 in Amoret, Mo. to Alex and Louisa Ethel (Bartlett) Francis. He was united in marriage to Ima Jean Goins on Oct. 19, 1985, in Nevada and she survives.

Glenn was raised in La Cygne and went to high school there, graduating with the Class of 1945. He served in the United States Army for two years in Georgia. Following his service years, he became a pipe fitter and worked in the Kansas City area at various power plants. He was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union Local #533 in Kansas City. For a time, Glenn lived in Ft. Scott, Kan. He worked as a cattleman for most of his adult life, then came to Nevada following his marriage to Jean. Glenn was known for building wagons, clocks, and wood furniture.

In addition to his wife, Jean, he is survived by five children; Donnie Goins and his wife Diane, Walker, Mo., Richard Francis, Nevada, Mo., Rhonda Morris and her husband David, Olathe, Bobbie Brown and her husband Howard, Centerville, Linda Jackson, Overland Park; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Ray Dean Scism officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, La Cygne. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
