Harold Davon Wallace, 75, former resident of Fort Scott, and more recently of Olathe, Kan., died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at Olathe Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 28, 1939, in Prescott, Kan., the son of Vernon Leroy Wallace Sr. and Myrtle Esther Steele Wallace.
Harold married Charlene Uttinger Aug. 24, 1963, in Fort Scott. She preceded him in death Oct. 21, 2007. Harold retired in May of 2003 from the U. S. Postal Service. He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1960.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Wallace and wife Pam, Olathe, Kan.; daughter Shelly Schultz and husband Darren, San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Raymond Wallace, Prescott, Kan., and two sisters, Aldine Rogers, Okeechobee, Fla., and Edna Probasco, Pleasanton, Kan. Also surviving are six grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son and infant daughter; three brothers, Vernon Wallace, Roland Wallace and Harvey Wallace; and three sisters, Florence Taylor, LaVerne Duncan and Irma Millsap.
Rev. Jared Witt will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
