Ira “Sonny” Ray Caruthers Jr., age 69 of Pleasanton, Kan., passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. He was born the son of Ira Ray and Dorothy R. Chrisman Caruthers on May 23, 1955, in Kansas City, Mo. He and his wife, Rae were married for thirty-eight years, they were married in Ozark, Mo. Sonny loved scrapping and doing mechanic work on automobiles. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Sonny is survived by his wife, Rae; a stepson, Jessie (Rochelle) Jimenez; a daughter, Tammy Soloman Walker; a brother, John Wayne Caruthers; a sister, Johanna Mills; three grandchildren, Kevin (Stephanie) Woltcamp, Samantha Jimenez and Damien Para; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 14, at the Schneider Funeral Home, Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until service time. Contributions are suggested to Friendship Faith Ministry and may be sent in care of Schneider Funeral Home P.O. Box 525 Pleasanton, Kansas 66075.
