Irma Grace Hyson, age 99, Blue Mound, Kan., passed away on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at Life Care Center in Osawatomie. She was born on Nov. 17, 1918, at Blue Mound, the daughter of Charles Lewis and Jesse Edith (Sutterby) Green. She graduated from Blue Mound High School.
On June 20, 1942, she married Edward Paul Hyson at Escondido, Calif. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1972.
She was employed as a secretary during her working years.
Irma was a member of the Blue Mound Federated Church, the Jolly Sewing Circle, American Legion Auxiliary, and the “Married and Glad of It” club.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Lou and Robert Walker; her parents, Charles and Jesse Green; a brother, Raymond Green; and a sister, Lillian Lou Wilson.
Irma is survived by three daughters, Rita Beckford and husband Dwayne, Mary Abraham and husband Dan, and Joyce Burch and husband Jim; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at the Sunny Slope Cemetery, Blue Mound. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until departure for cemetery at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel.
