James Harvey Millard Jr., 84, of Pleasanton, Kan. passed away at his home, Dec. 28, 2015. Jim was born March 13, 1931 in Worland, Mo. to James Harvey and Monticella May (Henson) Millard Sr. Always a hardworking man, Jim graduated from the 8th grade and began working full-time. On Dec. 9, 1950, Jim married Glenda Spencer. They had two children, James Allen and Brenda Darlene.
On Jan. 29, 1965, Jim married Betty Morris Wisbey and he welcomed Bonnie, Debra, Jimmy, Pam, and Brenda into his home. In time, Betty and Jim added their own son, Albert Lavern. Jim spent over 33 years working at Westinghouse, Bendix, and Honeywell. Jim was a family man who loved all his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson.
Jim was preceded in death by one son, Albert Lavern Millard; two daughters, Brenda Darlene Birch and Pam Folsom; one brother, George Millard; three sisters, LaBerta Johnson, Mary Wurtz, and Eva Birch.
Survivors include two sons, James Allen Millard and Jim Wisbey; three daughters, Bonnie Powers, Debra Wilson, and Brenda Shinn; one brother, Delbert Millard; and two sisters, Bonnie Studdard and Delma Brooks; 13 grandchildren, Pat, Jamie, Tim, Dusty, Kenneth, Michael, Kimberly, Rachelle, Kristina, Chad, Nick, Gayla, and Darla; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Assembly of God Church, Pleasanton. Arrangements: Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.
