Jason Walker "Jake" McCullough, age 44, was born June 25, 1975, in Nevada, Mo., the son of Jimmy and Martha Miller McCullough. He departed this life May 3, 2020, at his home in Amoret, Mo.

Jason loved his family; he had an awesome sense of humor and was always trying to “get us.” He was especially fond of his ornery nephews and was known to spoil his great-nephew, Austin, and great-niece, April, who was known to crawl up on his lap for a quick snuggle and maybe a chance to yank the cat's tail. How he loved those kids!

He was an avid Chiefs fan and was so excited when they won the Super Bowl. He loved his books, movies, current events, playing video games with nephew Connor and watching wrestling with his brother. He collected Chiefs and wrestling memorabilia. He was computer savvy, keeping the family online. He was preceded in death by his father and step mother, Jimmy and Shirley McCullough; grandparents, Roy and Delores Miller, Jasper and Gloria Jackson and Herb McCullough. Jake is survived by his mother and step dad, Martha and Tom Long; brother, Justin (Tressie); step-siblings, Becky Crossan (Jay), Tom Long, Jr., Heather Smith (Greg), and Dan Long; nephews, Aaron Hooker (Shelby), Eric Hooker (Megan), Sebastian Brabant (Sydney) and Connor Schultz; great nephew Austin; great niece, April, known as Ape to Uncle Jake; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Private family graveside will be held at the Benjamin Cemetery, Amoret, Mo. Contributions are suggested to the Shriner Children's Hospital, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box 525, Pleasanton, Kan. 66075.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
