Jo Ann Miller passed away on Dec. 5, 2019, with her family at her bedside. She was born on Aug. 26, 1953, to Max and Wilma Miller in Butler, Mo., and grew up in Pleasanton, Kan., graduating with the class of 1971.
Jo worked for more than a decade as an investment banker at George K. Baum & Co. She gave up her career to raise a family and had two sons, Grant Miller Wasserstrom and David Benjamin Wasserstrom.
As her boys gained independence, she completed a degree in hospitality management at Johnson County Community College and completed her bachelor’s degree at UMKC.
In addition to her sons, Jo is survived by her sister, Meredith Miller, of Palm Springs, Calif., and her brother, Max Miller, of Topeka, Kan.
Funeral services were private. The family suggests contributions be sent to Kansas City Hospice, 1500 Meadow Lake Parkway, Suite 200, Kansas City, MO 64114, or visit kchospice.org/donation/
