Joe Charley Allison Jr., age 82 of Prescott, Kan., passed away, Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021. Joe was born Aug. 24, 1939, the son of Joe Charley and Nora (Bailey) Allison Sr., at Hughes, Ark. He was a longtime member of the Teamsters Union, doing construction and truck driving over the years. He was a past city councilman in Prescott.

Joe loved fishing, dancing, garage sales, canning and helping local farmers. He volunteered often at the local Reach Out Food Pantry in Prescott. Joe also was an integral part of developing the Fishing’s Future Chapter in Linn County with John Copple, where they held two youth fishing events each year.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; two brothers, Robert and Johnny Allison; and one sister, Fran Etter. He is survived by three sons, Joe R. Allison(Cindy), Eugene Allison (Brenda Howe) and Steve Allison (Carol); three daughters, Beverly Reynolds (Duke), Brenda Roberts (Donnie) and Kay Fauss (Ron); two sisters, Kathy Thomas and Barbara Barker; five brothers, Jim, Bobby, Eddie, Larry and David Allison; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time, Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Contributions may be made to Reach Out Food Pantry and sent in care of Schneider Funeral Home P.O. Box 525, Pleasanton, KS 66075. Online condolences may be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
