Johnetta Lucille Rhynerson, age 72, Stilwell, Kan., passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024.  She was born in Gardner, Kan., on June 2, 1951, the daughter of John and Peggy Smith.  She was united in marriage to John Rhynerson on December 18, 1970.

She was a supermom and stayed at home to raise their children.  She eventually went to work as a para for Prairie View High School working in that capacity for fourteen years.  Faith and family were the guiding forces in her life.  She was an active member in the La Cygne Christian Church until they moved to Stillwell and for many years a leader of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She was such a gift to so many friends and kids alike. Her spirit lives on in everyone she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents.  Johnetta is survived by her husband, John; son Aaron Rhynerson; two daughters, Amanda Gooding and husband, Chad, and Arica Westmeyer and husband, Jeff; six grandchildren, Caden, Carter, Asher, Arden, Madison, and Olivia; three brothers, Jack Smith and wife, Kelly, Lanny Smith and wife, Barbara, and Ronnie Smith and wife, Melody; and many special nieces and nephews that she loved very much. 

Funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.  Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to service time at the La Cygne Chapel.  Floral arrangements are welcomed and memorial contributions are suggested to Goshen Home Care, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box 304, La Cygne, KS 66040.
