Joseph O. Patterson, 82, of Springdale, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born June 10, 1937, in Boicourt, Kan., to Virgil and Cleda Miller Patterson.

Joe owned and operated Eagle Body Inc. since 1968. He was an active member of Cross Church, formerly First Baptist Church of Springdale, where he was the head usher for over 25 years. He loved serving in missions both locally and around the world. Together with his wife Norma they founded JoyHouse Ministries in Gressier, Haiti. He was active politically serving as a Washington County Justice of the Peace for 12 years. He was a great basketball player, golfer, raced Enduro motorcycles, was a dirt track car driver, and an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Arkansas Razorback fan. He served in the Kansas National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Patterson, of the home; three sons, Jeff Patterson and wife Keneil of Rogers, Ark., Mark Patterson and wife Beverly of Rogers, Ark., and Greg Bass and wife Susan of Springdale, Ark.; two daughters, Sherry Bass of Alabama and Shonda O’Field and husband Reuben of Oklahoma; one brother, Jimmy Patterson and wife Judy of Kansas; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services were to be Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at Cross Church in Springdale with Pastor Doug Sarver officiating. Burial was to follow in Friendship Cemetery.
