Joseph “Stan” Stanley Melton, 79, of Milliken, Colo., passed away July 4, 2014, at Medical Center of the Rockies.
He was born July 17, 1934 in Chelsea, Okla., to Bert Clarence and Jessie (Bible) Melton. Stan grew up in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School.
On April 2, 1954, in Bartlesville, Okla., he married Patricia “Joanne” Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne of Milliken; children, Joseph Daniel (Marcia) Melton of China, Tom (Julie) Melton of Littleton, Colo., and Susan (Terry) Skov of Milliken; grandchildren, Daniel Melton, Clinton Melton, Jessie Melton, Candace Kielian, Summer Lopez, John Skov, Leah Goodrich, and David Melton; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Kylee, McKenzie, Bailey, Blake, Hailey, Kason, Serenity, Messiah, Sebastian, Seth, and baby Melton on the way; and a sister, Allien Atchley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 14 brothers and sisters.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Adamson Chapel. A celebration of life service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Hope Center of Johnstown, 420 Charlotte Street, Johnstown, CO 80534. Inurnment was in Johnstown Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to “Hope Center of Johnstown” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
