Keitha Ann Brown, age 70, Mound City, Kan., passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023. She was born in Garnett, Kan., on July 4, 1953, the daughter of Chester Keith and Mila Frances Chaney Herrmann. She was a Bulldog graduating from Blue Mound High School in the Class of 1971.

She worked for over thirty years in the USD 346 School District. She began at Blue Mound Elementary and then transferred to Jayhawk Elementary School where she was the self titled Operations Facilitator. Keitha touched many lives in a positive and caring way during her years working and also outside of work. She had a deep faith and a love for her God and his son Jesus. She was a woman of many talents. She cooked, baked, crafted, quilted, crocheted and gardened. Not much that the gal couldn’t do.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Sharon Herrmann. Keitha is survived by her son, Shannon Brown and wife, Pasqual, and their son Emmett Lyman; her daughter Leslie Doering and husband, Wade; a brother, Howard Herrmann; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A visitation and celebration of life was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2023, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel.  

Memorial contributions are suggested to Jayhawk Elementary School (JES) to be used for the student activities.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
