Kenneth Earl Norbury, age 90 of Fort Scott, Kan., passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan. Mr. Norbury was born on June 5, 1932, in Prescott, Kan., to Lillie Norbury. Kenneth's first job was for Johnny Jacob in the sawmill at Foster, Mo.

Private/Corporal Norbury served in the Army from 1946 to 1952, in the Korean War, Co. B 17th Infantry. Kenneth worked as a farmhand for Junior Payne in Amoret, Mo., Mac Rodman of Foster, Mo., Elroy Tourtillott in Rich Hill, Mo., and Bob Laughlin in Foster, Mo.

Kenneth was united in marriage on Aug. 16, 1961, to Norma Church Phillips. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; mother, Lillie; and grandparents, Sidney and Dessie Clapp Norbury. 

Kenneth is survived by a daughter, Kathy Rost; ex son-in-law, Bill Rost; both of Fort Scott, step-daughters, Donna (Robert) Newsome of Moundville, Mo.; Nora (Larry) Smalley of Butler, Mo.; three granddaughters, Katrina (Daniel) Routh of Springfield, Mo., Ryan Rost (John Hawkins) and Kandice Rost of Fort Scott, Kan.; two grandsons, Daniel Routh and Zane Hawkins; six step-grandkids, Steve (Tammy) Newsome of Houston, Texas, Robin (Bob) Benn, Stacy Newsome all of Nevada, Mo., Ronnie (Kammie) Smalley, Terry (Sheila) Smalley, Meloday (Rusty) Roach all of Butler, Mo.; sixteen step-great-grandkids and fifteen step-great-great-grandkids.

A Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Salem Cemetery in Foster, Mo.
