Krista Marie Mahon, age 38, of Ottawa, Kansas, formerly of Centerville and La Cygne, Kansas passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Olathe Hospice House. She was born in Overland Park, Kansas on August 19, 1980, the daughter of Gary and Susan Wolfe Mahon.

She graduated from Prairie View High School in the Class of 1998 and attended both Kansas State and Wichita State universities. Krista was a member of the Centerville Community Church. She enjoyed cooking and was a talented pianist and vocalist who spent her time hanging out with friends and loved playing games with family. Coaching the KU Jayhawks basketball team through the TV screen was one of her biggest pleasures. She was a kind soul with a big heart, who always helped people in whatever way she could. 

Krista is survived by her parents, Gary and Susie Mahon; a sister, Kendra Houston and David; aunts and uncles: Shirley Cady, David and Ruth Mahon, Sharon and Bob Neal, and Sally and Henry Ferguson, numerous cousins; and extended family and friends. 

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2018 at the Centerville Community Church. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.
