Larry E. Lane, 71, Pleasanton, Kan., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015. He was born March 4, 1944, at Duke, Mo., the son of Claude Ewing and Juanita Blanche Jones Lane.
He held many positions during his working career, including time on base at Ft. Leonardwood as a cab driver, Mound City Vault Co., security guard at KCP&L, and in road construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roger, Lloyd, and Elvin Lane; and a sister Betty Coleman.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy; two daughters, Tina McMahon and husband Jeff, and Robin Augur and husband David; four brothers, Bill, Danny, Harold and Bob Lane; four sisters, Rhonda Standbridge, Della Wilson, Phyllis Williams, and Linda Thacker; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Shelby, Garrett, Hannah, Chase, Cassey and Christopher; and one great-grandchild Jon.
Graveside service was held Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at the Curry Cemetery, Mound City, Kan. The family suggests contributions to the First Christian Church, Augusta, Kan.
