Larry Wayne Stainbrook, age 64, Fontana, Kan., passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021. He was born on Nov. 9, 1956, in Paola, Kan., the son of Robert and Wilma Rhynerson Stainbrook. He graduated from Prairie View High School in the Class of 1975. He was the winner of the State FFA Electric Award and was a member of the Champion FFA Land Judging Team. Larry was united in marriage to LaVonna Sue Williams on June 14, 1980, in Waverly, Kan. He loved to farm and shared that love with his kids and grandkids, whom he loved dearly. There was always one of them wanting a tractor ride. He was currently on the Heartland Rural Electric Board and the Linn County Farm Bureau Board, as well as the Linn County Fair Board and the Extension Board. He was a lifetime member of the Prairie View FFA and Fontana Church of Christ. Larry is survived by his wife Sue Stainbrook; parents, Robert and Wilma Stainbrook; son, Ryan Stainbrook and wife Ashley and children, Kora, Mason and Kane; daughter, Becky Petty and husband Brian and children, Olivia and Rylee; daughter, Lisa Foster and husband Chris and children, Eli, Konnor and Callen; two brothers, John Stainbrook and wife Nadine, and Kenny Stainbrook and wife Beth; a sister, Nancy Brownback and husband Alan; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Graveside funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at the Cadmus Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Mask wearing and social distancing will be observed at the request of the family. Individual respects and guest registry will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the La Cygne Chapel. Contributions are suggested to Linn or Miami County 4-H or the Parker Elementary Library, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box 304, La Cygne, Kan. 66040.
