Marion L. Mifflin was born Sept. 30, 1928, to Sterling and Alma (Stout) Mifflin in Warrensburg, Mo. Marion went to be with the Lord on Sept. 25, 2018.

In 1947 he volunteered to serve in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in the South Pacific “mop-up crew” and served until his discharge in 1949.

Marion was a professional driver all his life. He especially enjoyed his 24 years of being a school bus driver at Rock Port and Lakeland in Missouri. He was ordained a deacon at Harmony Baptist Church of Leeton, Mo., and served in Rock Port Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Lowry City, Mo.

When Marion was not on the road, he was in the boat fishing. He loved to fish! He could sit in the boat all day no matter if the fish were biting. The boat was optional.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Maradi (Hedges); brother and sister-in-law Galen and Ida Mifflin; and a daughter, Kim.

He is survived by his wife Wanda of 28 years; two sons, David (Elaine) of Warsaw, Mo., and Dan (Barb) of Kansas City, Mo.; Connie Strope (Rick) of Clinton, Mo.; and Tom Motley of Appleton City, Mo. Marion was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

 Services were Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, the 1st Baptist Church of Lowry City. Burial was at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the 1st Baptist Church of Lowry City.

Services were under the direction of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola, Mo.
