Mark William Madl, age 70, Shawnee, Kan., passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026. He was born on May 5, 1955, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of William and Mary Boots Madl. He was a sheet metal worker and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #2. Mark was united in marriage to Holly Young on Sept. 9, 1978. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, collecting guns, and spending time at Table Rock Lake.
Mark is survived by his wife, Holly; three daughters, Katie Groner and husband, John, Kelly Madl, and Kimberly Madl-Hackney and husband, Donald; two brothers, Daniel Madl and Roger Madl; and six grandchildren, Dacey, Cameron, Rory, Aiden, Remington, and Quin.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at the Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City Chapel. Visitation followed the service until 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel.
