Mary Dolores Warta, age 94, Pleasanton, Kan., passed away Sept. 8, 2023. She was born on Feb. 3, 1929, in Prescott, Kan., the daughter of Vye and Essie Cannon Lewis. She worked for Westinghouse as a clerk for several years before retirement.
She attended the Prescott United Methodist Church and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution(DAR). She enjoyed gardening and collecting coins, dolls, and recipes. She was also very interested in genealogy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother. Mary is survived by two sons, Marvin Warta and wife Janice, and Rawlin Warta and wife Mona; four grandchildren, Karen, Frank, Cassie and Christina; and seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Charlotte, Frank, Brennan, Rylie, Bobby, and Grace.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at the Prescott United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Battlefield Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Olathe Hospice House. Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
