Merle T. Davidson, 94, passed away Sept. 26, 2016. Born in Blue Mound, Kan., he later received a Bronze Star for his service in World War II. Merle was a Newton, Kan., resident; he owned Davidson Welding and later retired as a welding instructor. He was an expert welder and fabricator. He was a brilliant, spirited jokester who loved to fish, hunt and dance. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He was preceded by son Donald Davidson; and nine siblings.
Merle is survived by son Harley (JoAnn) Davidson; daughters Naomi (Donald) Rakestraw and Suzy (Gene) Sebo; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Blue Mound Cemetery Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at 2 p.m.
