Michael Alfred Kaiser, 77, of Centerville, Kan., died on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at The University of Kansas Hospital. Michael was born Nov. 21, 1940, in Peoria, Ill., to Alfred Asbury and Ruth Ann (Owens) Kaiser.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1959-1964. 

He was married to Ethel Audean Russell. Michael enjoyed life as a truck driver as he enjoyed traveling. He was also a rancher and loved his cattle. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ethel on Sept. 19, 2010; and one son, Michael Andrew Kaiser, on March 1, 2013.

Michael is survived by two daughters, Annette Haughton and husband John of Green Bay, Wis., and Amanda Corbett and husband Dorian of Walford, Iowa; two sisters, Donna Ruth Kaiser Jones and Margie Nolte; four grandchildren, Kaleigh Haughton, Thomas Haughton, Julian Corbett and Marcux Corbett; and three great grandchildren, Aliviah Haughton, Lily Ann Haughton and Vincent Lisch.

According to Michael’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private service at a later date.

Contributions are suggested to American Heart Association or American Legion Post No. 152, Paola, Kan. Contributions may be mailed to Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box J, Mound City, KS 66056. Friends and family may leave online condolences at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
