Michael Allen Bishop, age 74 of Grove, Okla., formerly of Blue Mound, Kan., passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021.  He was born the son of Jacob T. and Erma O. Giffin Bishop on Jan. 29, 1947, at Blue Mound, Kan. Mike joined the United States Marines in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1968. He married Bonnie Carter on May 6, 1968, in Summersville, Mo.; to this union they were blessed with four children. From 1979 until his retirement in 2010, Mike or "MA" as he was known by his co-workers, was employed with Kansas City Power and Light at the La Cygne plant. Mike never met a stranger, loved "helping" his neighbors, enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, puzzles, yard work, his family and especially his grandkids. He loved just being outdoors in general. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Waverly and Dan Bishop; sister-in-law, Kathy Bishop; brother-in-law, Ralph Stites; and a nephew, Tim Bishop. Mike is survived by his loving wife of fifty three years, Bonnie; three sons, Chris and wife, Kendra, Eric and wife, Anna, Jeremy and wife, Megan; one daughter, Melissa Osenton and husband, Chad; two brothers, Roy Bishop and Les Bishop and wife, Vicky; one sister, Donna Stites; and eleven grandchildren, Javin, Gabbie, Mia, Kaleb, Kenzie, Ashton, Emma, Hope, Connor, Emersyn and Kenadee.

Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, at the First Baptist Church of Parker. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at the Schneider Funeral Home in Mound City. The family requests that visitors wear masks while attending the visitation and service. The family suggests contributions to Hewitt-New Post #248 American Legion and may be sent in care of Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory P.O.
