Michael Qualizza of Pleasanton, Kan., died peacefully on Sept. 24, 2023. Michael was a beloved husband, stepfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. This humble loving man worked hard and enjoyed hunting, farming, dancing, and time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Margaret Masterson and Irvin Qualizza and his sister Mary Ellen Cochran. He is survived by his wife, Kelly Scott, his siblings Stephen (Jacquelyn) Qualizza, Patricia Qualizza Sherbert, Suzette Scholtes, Jeanette (Guy) Hardesty, Amelia (Thomas) Fox, and Peter Qualizza, his nieces and nephews; Emily (Kevin) Smith, Tony (Jessica) Sherbert, Justin (Lauren) Scholtes, Elizabeth (Thomas) Schnackenberg, Byron (Stephanie) White, Crystal (Matthew) White-Lara, Catherine Fox and Rick Fox and many great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Masterson and Qualizza families.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for all prayers, well-wishes, and assistance sent their way. In lieu of flowers they also ask for gifts in his name to the Alzheimer’s Research.
A Ceremony of Life will be held Oct. 28 11 a.m. – 1 p.m at First Baptist Church Mound City.
