Mima Jeanne "Jeanne" Ptacek, 88, of Parker, Kan., died on Saturday, April 20, 2019, after a lengthy bout with her health. Jeanne was born Aug. 31, 1930, in Burlington, Kan., to Eldon L. and Mary Ellen (Augsbury) Hunt. Jeanne was the youngest of three children.

After graduating from high school, Jeanne completed an Associate Degree from Municipal University of Wichita.

On June 14, 1950, she married the love of her life, James Francis Ptacek, at Eastside Methodist Church in Wichita.

Jeanne was active in the lives of her children and her church. She loved children and was a scout mother for many years, proudly seeing that all three of her sons became Eagle Scouts. She was a member of the Mound City United Methodist Church and an active member of the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her husband, Jim, of the home; three sons, Steve, Larry and Richard and his wife Joannie; six grandchildren, Shannon Kay Kreienheder, Shelby Rae Ptacek, Mary Lee Ptacek, Robert James Ptacek, Richard Francis Ptacek and Gina Nicole Ptacek; two great granddaughters, Raegan Kaylyn and Scarlett Ann Kreienheder; several nieces and nephews; and her best buddy, her beloved dachshund, Merlin.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Eldon Hunt Jr.; her sister, Marilyn Maxine Spradling; and one daughter-in-law, Karen Ptacek.

Cremation has taken place according to Jeanne's wishes. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Mound City United Methodist Church.
