Myrna J. Wells, 86, Overland Park, Kan., passed away peacefully, at home  surrounded by family Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.   

She was born on April 6, 1937, to Adam M. and Freda M. (Kehl) Herdt in Pawnee Rock, Kan.    

She married Kenneth Robert Wells, her childhood sweetheart, on Aug. 25, 1956, in Russell, Kan. 

  Myrna was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission, Kan., where she was chair of the Evangel Committee and active in Rebecca Circle and Stephen’s Ministry.  

While spending summers at Sugar Valley Lake she also attended Cornerstone Church in Mound City, Kan., where she was active in team ministry and led worship. 

She spent her years as a devoted homemaker, providing love and support for her family and friends. Her legacy   continues with each of her four children celebrating at least 39 years of marriage.  

She enjoyed writing and listening to worship and praise music. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, an infant brother, and a great grandson. 

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; children, Martin Wells  (Debbie), Jennifer Hall (Kent), David Wells (Sue) and Jon Wells (Tina); brother Steve Herdt; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5601 West 62nd Street, Mission, Kan. 66202. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
