Oral Hazel Rhynerson, age 101, Blue Mound, Kan., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at her home. She was born on Oct. 15, 1917, in Mayview, Mo., the daughter of Lester and Ethel Mills Hoyt.
She married Harold Henry “Pete” Rhynerson on Jan. 6, 1940, at Butler, Mo. He was called into active duty in the Merchant Marines during World War II, after the birth of their first child. She was a farm wife in every sense. She grew a big garden, raised chickens and helped milk the cows. She was a wonderful cook, crocheted and was a seamstress, making clothing for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three grandchildren, Tyler Denman, Tracy Jo Rhynerson and Randy Hester; a son-in-law, Jerry Roper; and seven siblings, Lester Hoyt, Clarence Hoyt, J.W. Hoyt, Juanita Hoaglan, Edna Pauline Bell, Ella Hill and Glenna Wallace.
Hazel is survived by one son, Donnie Rhynerson and Deb; four daughters, Charlotte Hester and Gerald, LaNita Roper, Linda Findley and Robert, and Cleo Matthews and Jamie; and eight grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 12 great, great grandchildren and one on the way. 
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, La Cygne, Kan. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
