Richard Lee White, age 78, formerly of Linn Valley, Kan., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at his daughter’s home in Bedford, Texas. He was born in Henderson, Ky., on Sept. 3, 1943, the son of James Arnett and Mildred Lucille Richmond White. He was united in marriage to Donna Hancock on April 6, 1962, in Henderson. She preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 2015.

Richard worked as manager of Central Dispatch for Yellow Freight before retiring. Richard enjoyed fishing, gardening, campfires and watching the wildlife from his front porch. 

He was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Demova Curson; and grandson Joshua White. Richard is survived by a daughter, Karen Leyva and husband Gabriel; two brothers, James Arnett White Jr. and Ivory Kenneth White; four sisters, Lavina June Walker, Betty Jean Moore, Wanda Faye Howell and Grace Evelyn Ternes; a granddaughter, Michelle Hendrickson and husband Ryan; a granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Hall and husband Tristan; and great-grandchildren Kierston, Gavin, Alyssa, Makayla, Averi, Declyn and Lincoln.

 A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to service. As requested by the family, mask wearing will be required at the visitation and funeral. Inurnment will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to La Cygne Elementary for clothing and school supplies, something he and Donna contributed to each year, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O.
