Richard "Rick" Eugene Courtois, age 74, Pleasanton, Kan., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021. He was born in Pleasanton on Feb. 24, 1947, the son of Charles and Freda Johnson Courtois. He graduated from Pleasanton High School. Rick was united in marriage to Margie Jean Orton on Dec. 4, 1965. To this union, three children were born. Margie preceded him in death on Sept. 29, 1978. He worked at Rylie Equipment and Contracting for many years before enjoying retirement. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Rick is survived by a son, Richard E. Courtois II and wife Janelle; two daughters, Lisa Degrande and Jeannie Anderson and husband Terry; a sister, Charlene Allison (Jerry); eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at the Pleasanton Cemetery. Individual respects and guest registry can be made from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.
