Robert Dale Hopkins, age 71, Prescott, Kan., passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was born in Kansas City, Kan., on Aug. 18, 1949, the son of Fred and Lorain Curtis Hopkins. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He drove a sanitation truck for many years before retirement. He was united in marriage to Judy Grigsby on Feb. 26, 1981. She preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2019. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tammy Foster; and a son-in-law, Shannon Robinson. He enjoyed studying the Bible and coin and old car collecting.
Dale is survived by four sons, Bob Hopkins, Kenny Foster (Sherry), Ronnie Foster (Marsha) and Leslie Foster (Donielle); a daughter, Billie Jo Robinson; two brothers, Mark Hopkins and Jack Hopkins; three sisters, Chrissy Parker, Rita Liles and Rhonda Crafton; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
A gathering to celebrate Dale’s life will be held at a later date. Contributions are suggested to Disabled American Veterans, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box J, Mound City, Kan. 66056. Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
