Ronald Lee Seymour, 77, of La Cygne, Kan., died on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at his home. Ron was born on Oct. 27, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo., to Robert Lee and Rita Mae (McArthur) Seymour. He graduated from North Kansas City High School with the Class of 1960. 

Ron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from September 1961 to September 1965 during the Vietnam War. 

Ron enjoyed life, he played baseball in his younger days, and he enjoyed family vacations and most recently played golf every day his health would allow. Ron retired from the POA office in Linn Valley after seven years. 

Ron married Patti L. Pence on Oct. 22, 2005. Ron and Patti were active members of the Linn Valley Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Patti Seymour; one son, Scott David Seymour; one daughter, Mary Shannon Gray and husband Robert; one stepson, Joseph D. Thompson; one brother, Robert Lewis Seymour and wife Jayne; one sister, Rose Mary Wiltshire and husband Jim; three granddaughters, Allison Fesmire, Madison Gray and Sydney Gray; two grandsons, Joseph Gray and Noah Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Ron's life at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at Linn Valley Community Church under the direction of Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.

The family suggests contributions to Great Guana Cay Foundation to help rebuild the community of Great Guana Cay, Abaco Islands, Bahamas, after the devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian. Nobodys wins Blue Mound co-ed softball tournament

The team called Nobodys wins the Blue Mound 4th of July co-ed softball tournament on July 5. This year the tournament consisted of eight teams. The Nobodys is Keith Morrell’s team and has been a part of the softball tournament since it started three years ago.

Pleasanton 12-14 baseball wins championship

The Pleasanton 12-14 baseball team wins their league tournament on June 30 to July 1. Pleasanton hosted the tournament and won in the championship against La Cygne 11-7.
