Rose Ann Gillette, 63, of Pleasanton, Kan., died Wed., Dec. 28, 2016, at her home in Pleasanton. Rose was born Nov. 8, 1953, in Kansas City, Kan., to William Arthur and Dorothy Rose (McGhann) Gillette.
She graduated from Olathe High School. For a few years she worked as a certified nursing assistant in nursing homes in Linn and Miami counties.
She was a very happy person and enjoyed spending time with her friends at Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center in Pleasanton and with her family. She was a member of Pleasanton Nazarene Church.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Barney Gillette, Howard Gillette, and Ace Gillette; and two sisters-in-law, Edna Gillette and Birdie Gillette.
Survivors include two sons, Donald L. Motes II and his wife Stephanie of Sugar Valley Lakes of Mound City, and Dominic Adam Wayne Motes of Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Dorothy Marie Hamlin and her husband Trevor of Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers and their wives, Art and JoAnn Gillette of Nevada, Mo., and Vester and Anita Gillette of Edgerton, Kan.; two sisters, Judy Good and her husband Dennis of La Cygne, and Chris Gillette Mitchell of Prescott; one sister-in-law, Judy Kay Gillette of Olathe, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Rose was on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at Pleasanton Church of the Nazarene.
The family suggests contributions to Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center, 505 W. 15th St., Pleasanton, KS 66075. Friends and family may leave online condolences at www.schneiderfunerals.com. Arrangements: Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.
