Roy D. Johnston, age 74, Prescott, Kan., went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. He was born in Omaha, Neb., on July 26, 1947, the son of Katherine Welch Fulk. Roy will always be remembered as a reverent and patriotic man who proudly served his God and his country in the United States Air Force.

Roy had a strong personal relationship with his Lord and Savior and believed in spreading the Gospel and leading others to Christ. His life reflected his spirit of giving and willingness to help anyone in need. He was an owner/operator of his own truck and worked as a mechanic in the construction industry. He also enjoyed working on his muscle cars, hunting and shooting, and taking care of and riding his horses. Roy was united in marriage to Betty Garcia on Feb. 1, 1991.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luther R. Johnston, and his mother, Katherine C. (Welch) Fulk; and a brother, David L Johnston. Roy is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughter, Lucy Ann Greenley; three grand and five great-grandchildren; his brother, Theodore Fulk; along with two sisters, Cheryl Carney and Kendra Butner.

A gathering to celebrate Roy’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, at the Schneider  Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.
