Sam Griffin, Jr., age 62, Linn Valley, Kan., passed away Jan. 16, 2019. He previously resided in Olathe, Kan., for most of his adult life. He was the son of the late Sam Sr. and Ruth Griffin.
He is survived by his wife Christine Griffin, Linn Valley; his children, Betty Parkes, O'Fallon, Mo., Sam Griffin III, Overland Park, Kan., Erica Unger, Gardner, Kan., Valerie Griffin, Gardner, and Nicole Dougan, Gardner; two stepsons, Richard Stringer, Webb City, Mo., and Randal Stringer, Glen Ellyn, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Sam was an owner of Griffin Home Improvement. Previously he co-owned C&S Construction, Imagination Floral and Juniors Plumbing. He also was a certified backhoe operator 101 Local and had worked for various companies that specialized in fiber optic cable.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 2 in Linn Valley Lakes at the clubhouse.
