Stephen R. Kimzey, 72, of Topeka, Kan., passed away July 23, 2017, at his home in Topeka. He was born Jan. 3, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Elvin and Lorene Leonard Kimzey.
His younger years were spent in Linn County, Kan., after which the family moved to Topeka.
Steve graduated from the University of Kansas in 1967, having earned a degree in Business Administration. Shortly thereafter, he began working for IBM and worked for that company in several locations in the United States and in Hong Kong until his retirement in 1997. After his retirement, he spent a number of years in San Antonio and Austin, Texas, as well as in Topeka.
He is survived by a daughter, Sarah Trimble; two sons, Dick Kimzey and Tom Kimzey; a brother, Ron Kimzey; and numerous grandchildren and step grandchildren.
