Verna Mae Burgreen, 50, of Butler, Mo., died Monday, April 20, 2015, in Butler. She was born Oct.15, 1964, to Vernon Waldeo and Minnie Mae Avey Boyd in Fort Scott, Kan.
Verna grew up in Pleasanton, Kan. where she graduated from high school in 1983.
For several years, Verna was a homemaker and took care of her children. She later worked for Atchison Hospital in Atchison, Kan., for 11 years. Most recently Verna worked in home health care in the Butler area. She was a member of the Atchison United Methodist Church.
Verna enjoyed fishing, working crossword puzzles and spending time with family and friends. She loved her children and was the kindest person anyone knew.
Verna is survived by her husband, Joseph Burgreen Sr. of Albuquerque, N.M.; one son, Joseph Burgreen Jr. of Butler, Mo.; one daughter, Angel Burgreen of Pittsburg, Kan.; and her mother, Minnie Boyd of Pleasanton, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Verna’s wishes were to be cremated and remembered with fond memories. Arrangements: Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel, 660-679-6555, Butler, Mo. There are no public services scheduled at this time.
