Vicki A. Capp, age 69 of Mapleton, Kan., passed away on Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, at the Olathe Hospice House. She was born the daughter of Frank E. and Claudeane (Shaw) Craig on Aug. 8, 1954, at Fort Lewis, Wash.
Vicki married Earl Capp on Jan. 25, 1980, at the Wyandotte County Courthouse in Kansas City, Kan. She enjoyed playing cornhole, crafting, canning, cooking and baking; but, she absolutely loved being around campfires, being a grandma first and doing for others before herself.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Shawn Michael Bartimus. She is survived by her husband, Earl, of the home; son Robert Capp and wife, Jacqueline; two sisters, Connie Jo Wright and husband, Hank and Karen Bales and husband, Larry; six grandchildren, Kyrsten Collins and husband, James, Kelton, Kylin, Jazmin, Aurora and Anastasia; and three great-grandchildren, Alailah, Raelynne and Ryder.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. The family suggests contributions to The American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home to P.O. Box 525 Pleasanton, Kan. 66075.
